About Us4CT was formed in east Manchester in 2005, through the merger of three community organisations serving the communities of Beswick, Clayton and Openshaw. It is a multi-purpose community organisation, delivering services across the city and involving residents and volunteers in creating a better Manchester. Since its formation, 4CT has become a registered charity and manages The Grange Community Resource Centre in Beswick and Sporting Edge Sport and Youth Centre in Openshaw. 4CT is governed by a Board of Trustees with strong links to the communities we serve. This helps to make sure our services meet the needs of these communities. 4CT Trustees "[Trustees]... are responsible for controlling the management and administration of a charity. The great majority of trustees serve as volunteers, and receive no payment. They should work together as a team, and have ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of a charity, ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it has been set up". (Charity Commission) 4CT is governed by a Board of Trustees (who are also Directors), elected by our members. They meet to discuss important issues about the direction of the organisation, to make sure it delivers key objectives. The Board of Trustees of 4CT are:
Members of 4CT The members of 4CT elect its Board at the AGM and support the work of the charity by helping generate new ideas. 4CT wants to encourage all members of the community to become involved, particularly if you live or work in east Manchester. Becoming a member of 4CT is one way you can do that. If you are interested in becoming a member of 4CT, please contact the Chair, Irene Baron, at 4CT. The Chief Executive of 4CT is Claire Evans.
