GENERAL INFORMATION

Getting Manchester Moving Getting Manchester Moving is a citywide initiative designed to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity, its benefits and where these activities can be accessed as well as about healthy eating and weight management. The key partners are Manchester City Football Club, Manchester City Council and Manchester Public Health Development Service.

The campaign has pulled together under one banner information about a range of health provisions from across the city – making it simple and easy for people to access. The project involves the use of the Manchester Community Health Trainers scheme, which sees members of the community provide one to one support to help people take the first steps to becoming more active and eating more healthily.

For more information,  or to join please visit www.gettingmanchestermoving.org or contact jane.parker@mcfc.co.uk or telephone 0161 438 7711.

Increased Car Parking at the Grange - The Grange Community Resource Centre, Pilgrim Drive, Beswick has recently purchased GRASSMAC – an environmentally sound and cost effective alternative to concrete and tarmac – to provide car parking at the front of the building.

As from the new football season we hope to be able to open the grounds for match day parking but we are also intending to use the surface year round as we can now bring vehicles on site for community events and general car parking to compliment room hire.

Pentagon Grassmacis a heavy-duty polymer grid for protecting and reinforcing grassed areas to be used by trucks, cars, golf buggies, light vehicles or pedestrian foot traffic. GRASSMAC can bear vehicle loads of up to 4 tonnes per axle. Designed for permanent applications, Pentagon Grassmac will protect the grass roots from damage and help prevent rutting. For further information on GRASSMAC please contact Pentagon Sport Ltd on 01625 415 389 or e-mail info@pentagonsport.co.uk
