Sven Goran Eriksson Visits Sporting Edge

Former Manchester City's manager Sven Goran Eriksson met a group of young people from the MCFC Kickz Project in East Manchester last week.

The blues boss was joined by German midfielder Dietmar Hamann at Sporting Edge Community Sports Centre in Openshaw where he saw up to 70 young people take part in footballing and MCing sessions.

Manchester City’s second Kickz Project was launched in June 2007 at Sporting Edge funded by Connexions. Kickz is a project run by all twenty premier league clubs and further 11 in the Football League. It is managed nationally by the Football Foundation and delivered on the ground by each clubs community coaches. It uses the power of football to create stronger, safer and more respectful communities by developing young peoples potential.

The Kickz Project at Sporting Edge operates every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for young people aged 13-19 years.
